Rockin’ Reviews – Undeniable Magnetism Bonnie Dee
Welcome to another edition of rockin’ reviews. I’ve read a few good books lately and this one was one of those I couldn’t put down.
An m/m romance with some tension, albeit racial but hey it definitely gave the story some color. Two good looking men, one who is fully out, the other is closeted. From the first time Simon and Jay meet, they’re instantly attracted to one another. They come from different economic backgrounds. Jay being the middle class Irish family and Simon, the upper class black family. I have to admit, I thought it would be in the reverse but as they ALWAYS say, never judge a book by it’s cover.
Bonnie Dee paints a fab love story of two men who need one another for support. Jay’s already been through the issue of coming out to his family while Simon is still searching for the courage. I love both the characters. Both are likeable, engaging and the story was the perfect pace.
I also have to say, the scene with Jay’s family did shock me, but hey it does happen! No doubt racism is still a big issue in this country and just like homophobia, it’s another problem that’s part of society’s grim reality.
Still, it didn’t make me dislike the book. It was a true picture of two men from different backgrounds, trying to build a relationship together, a solid future.
I adored this story and I look forward to reading more of Ms. Dee’s stories!

Taken from Goodreads:
When Simon walks into Jay’s bar for a drink, he never expects to find himself having an afternoon quickie in the back room. Although attracted to the hot bartender, Simon’s never had a real relationship and isn’t ready for that kind of commitment.
Jay is ready for Mr. Right, and when he meets hot, hunky Simon, he believes he’s found his match. But convincing the reserved man that their brief encounter could become something more will take all his persuasive skills.
Jay is blue collar Irish. Simon is from an African American society family. Can two men from such different backgrounds find common ground? Undeniable magnetism attracts them, but only love can keep them together?
