Rockin Reviews Every Move He Makes Barbara Elsborg *SPOILER ALERT*
Greetings dudes and dudettes. Another review by yours truly and this happens to be a rock and roll book. *throws up horns* Okay, not quite. It’s more of a spy thriller but it features a character Zak Kochenkov who is a violinist in the band Dirty Angels.
Oh yeah, I like it already.
Anyways, this book. Wow, what a fucking rollercoaster. Zak is being hunted by someone who doesn’t like him too much. He’s pissed many people off in his lifetime and they want him dead. Unknowingly one of his actions has made him a target of a Russian spy organization and Logan is called in to be his bodyguard.
At first, the book moved a little slow. Once we find out what happened to Logan there was a lot of interaction between the father as well as Logan and his boss at M16. However, once we’re given that bit of information, Ms. Elsborg takes us on a rollercoaster ride with Logan and Zak as they try to avoid being killed by these spies and keep their pants on in the process.
Both men have so much baggage you want to cry for both of them throughout the book. Logan’s mom and dad both dead. A twin brother with mental disabilities, and always being second to his other brother who he’s never had a very close relationship with. Then there’s Zak who’s mom died in a skiing accident and he blames it on himself. This has led him down a path of self-destruction where he sleeps around, takes drugs, and drinks himself into oblivion. (hmm sounds familiar) He cringes when it snows and his only solace is when he plays the violin. Throughout the book you ache for both Logan and Zak neither of whom are interested in long term relationships. They’ve been through hell and both deserve a happy ending. I rooted for them throughout and rejoiced when they finally did the deed and I wanted to smack them when they kept doing things that kept them apart.
This book did it for me on so many levels. Well rounded characters, the sex was hot, it was full of suspense and as I said earlier, I was on the edge of my seat at several different points. All in all, Ms. Elsborg nailed it when it comes to writing a complete book. I give it 5 horns!
