Blurb: Hollywood royalty Jeremy Jameson has lived a sheltered life with music as his sole focus and only friend. Before embarking on yet another international concert tour, he wanders into a bar in what he considers the middle of nowhere and meets a man who wins him over with his friendly smile and easy-going nature. Accountant slash bartender slash adventure-seeker Reg Moore has fun talking and drinking with The Jeremy Jameson and can’t say no when the supposedly straight rock star makes him a once in a lifetime offer: keep him company on his tour by playing the part of his boyfriend.
Listening to music, traveling the world, and jumping off cliffs is fun. Falling in love is even better. But to stay with Jeremy after the stage lights dim, Reg will need to help him realize there’s nothing pretend about their relationship.
When I picked up this book. I was immediately excited. Gay male rock stars always do it for me. *grins* However, what I read and expected were two different things. I expected a story about a closeted gay male musician who falls for an out man he met while on tour. Almost, but not quite. Instead, Perfect Imperfections is about a straight man who falls in love with another guy but not until after he strikes up a deal for the bartender to accompany him while he’s on tour.
What a story! It’s definitely a slow build so if you’re not into that, you might give it a pass. There were times I was like get together already but the more I thought about it, the characters didn’t need an instant love situation because Jeremy Jameson was STRAIGHT! And btw, I’m usually not into gay for you stories either, but I was into this from beginning to end. And when the two of them finally got together, Cardeno didn’t disappoint with the love scenes. There is one part in particular I won’t spoil because I don’t want to ruin it. All I can say is Fleshlight. *winks* You get the picture.
By the way, the characters were very well written. I felt sorry for Jeremy, basically devoid of real love his whole life and Reg, who sounded like a hottie by the way, was there to teach and guide him through everything.
Cardeno gave us insight into their relationship from beginning to end and I’ll be reading more of Cardeno’s books in the future.
4 horns and great cover!

OOh more hot metal dudes!
Yes I am a pansexual. I love both genders but something about a metal dude that I can’t ignore.
What’s to come this week?
Well, Shar’s been running me ragged with the metal shows this month so we have Corey recommends with a link to both reviews.
I’m also reviewing a book called Dog Tagged. Did I tell you I like Military Men too?
Stay tuned for all of that this week!
